Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
What is the price for just the I-Beams?
A. Our 2 wheel drive custom machined I-Beams incorporate an
equal-length set-up that is designed to use only McNeilOff-Road
equal-length pivot brakets and radius arms. These I-beams
will not work properly with any other products, so unfortunatly
we only sell them with our kits.
Q.
Which type of coil-over shock is best for your long-travel
kits?
A. We reccomend using either 2.5 inch or 3.0 inch shocks.
Popular manufacturers are KING and SWAYAWAY. For a pre-runner
one 2.5 inch shock per wheel is sufficient . For extreme use
and racing applications we reccomend either one 3.0 inch shock
per wheel or the combination of one 2.5 inch coil-over and
one 2.5 inch bypass shock per wheel.
Q.
How much wider will the front end be after installing one
of your kits? A. All of our suspension
kits will extend the front wheel track 4.5 inches per side.
Q.
What else do I need to install the bolt-on rear 3-link suspension
system? A. In general, if the stock
bed is to be used the wheel travel will be limited to 27 inches
and a hole will need to be cut out for the pumpkin to clear. The
fender- wells will need to be cut out and fiberglass bed-sides
will need to be installed to allow the tires to tuck under
them. You will need to re-locate the fuel tank to the behind
the differential using either a fuel cell or a Bronco II type
fuel tank. Also to mount the coil-overs you will need to buy
our bolt-on bed-cage or fabricate your own.

Q.
Does the rear 3-link come with a complete 9 inch rear-end
ready to bolt on? A. Every Rear 3-link
kit is shipped with a reinforced 9 inch rear end with stock
parts. We reccomend rebuilding the internals and upgrading
to bigger axels, and re-gearing them as needed. We buy these
9 inch rear ends from junkyards, and rather than sending just
a fabricated housing, we include all the parts that came with
it.
Q.
How can I install bump stops with a McNeilOff-Road Suspension
system? A. We offer bolt-on hydraulic
bump stop mounts for use with our kits at an additional charge.
Q.
Do you offer a hyme joint version of radius arms and I-Beams?
A. We sure do, In fact all of our 2x4 I-Beams come with a
hyme joint end. A hyme joint version of our radius arms is
available upon request.
Q.
Are there any measurements or guess work involved when installing
a bolt-on kit? A. No, our bolt-on suspension
systems were virtually designed to replace existing components.
In most cases you will need to remove a factory part, and
utilize a pre-existing hole in the framerail for your starting
point. Simply ream out this hole with a 1/2 inch drill bit
and install a McNeilOff-road suspension component with the
first bolt. Now you can see exactly where to drill the remaining
holes to install the rest of the hardware.
